The annual YOUNG STARS SHOWCASE (YSS) was created by the Aventura Marketing Council Chamber of Commerce (AMC) in 2010 to become their signature event. Each year, the YSS features extraordinary young singers from throughout South Florida, and some of our Young Stars are already headed to stardom.

In 2010, we were fortunate to have two amazing young boys among our Young Stars......Nick Merico and Josh Grosso.  It was obvious that both of these young men were destined for great careers. Nick Merico starred in Nickelodeon’s most popular teen-aged show, “Every Witch Way” and  is writing and singing his original songs, with agents in both Los Angeles and New York.  Josh Grosso received a full scholarship to Carnegie Mellon, where he won the Jimmy Award and Broadway or Bust competition... a talent who belongs on Broadway. And through the years, we have featured other amazing young singers who competed in “The Voice”, “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent”.  It has been our privilege to help nurture these talented youngsters as they follow their dreams into the performing arts world.

Proceeds from each year’s showcase benefit the Aventura Marketing Council Education Foundation, the 501 © (3) charity that supports all the educational outreaches of this 30 year-old, not-for-profit business organization that has a long and strong history of building bridges of understanding  between the business and educational communities.

Our award-winning programs include Student Connection, working with  at-promise students,  as well as mentorships, jobs, community service projects and scholarships that  have kept the AMC in the spotlight as a strong partner of the educational community.
